Casting has begun on feature film Psycho Therapy, a contained horror in the vein of The Haunting and Identity … with elements of Gothika and Get Out.

Filming will take place over seven days this summer at a house in Canoga Park. Dates to be announced soon.

We’re primarily looking for actors and actresses ages 20-40; psychiatrist roles could be played by actors/actresses up to 50s-60s

As this is a low-budget production, compensation is limited to travel expenses, meals, and credit.

Psycho Therapy is being produced by Tony Tanelli Oliver of A Twister Productions and was written by Benjamin J. Gohs.

PSYCHO THERAPY

LOGLINE: Under the guidance of an unconventional psychiatrist, a group of friends revisits an infamous murder house to unravel the truth about horrific events they thought were the effects of a bad acid trip.

SYNOPSIS

Last Halloween, ISAIAH CORTEZ, his big brother GABE CORTEZ, and friends BOB ROBERTS, SINDEE LOVECHILD, and DARLENE VOSS stayed the weekend at a Los Angeles Airbnb while attending a friend’s wedding.

Something terrible happened there that caused Isaiah’s friends and family to stop speaking to him, but Isaiah can’t remember what.

All he knows is, since then, he’s been plagued by horrific nightmares about murderous demons and a mysterious box whose deadly light draws people like moths to flame.

Now, hoping to remember what happened, Isaiah’s therapist DR. REBECCA SANDERS, takes Isaiah back to the place where the nightmare began—an infamous tourist attraction called The Spooner Murder House, which is rumored to be the site of numerous unsolved slayings.

Dr. Sanders’ colleague DR. SIMON HADID warns her not to push Isaiah too far with hypnosis and immersion therapy or risk having him permanently scarred by more terrible false memories.

Desperate to learn the truth and free himself of his living nightmare, Isaiah agrees to the extreme form of therapy. Once in The Spooner House, Isaiah begins having flashbacks from last Halloween. And once Dr. Sanders puts him under hypnosis, it all comes flooding back.

Now, travelling back and forth between past and present, Isaiah’s reality becomes blurred. The house’s evil forces need a new caretaker to feed its bloodthirsty cravings, and Isaiah is chosen.

By the time Dr. Sanders realizes all of Isaiah’s fears of supernatural evil were true, it’s too late.

Now, trapped in The Spooner House with demonically possessed Isaiah, Dr. Sanders must survive the night by following the advice of a friendly spirit and getting right with God. Dr. Sanders fights evil Isaiah off with a crucifix she finds and is knocked unconscious in defeating him.

Next morning, with birds chirping and the house wide open, Dr. Sanders rejoices, dragging herself across the floor to escape. It’s a long and nervous journey. But she makes it within feet of the open front door.

Of course, no one escapes Spooner House alive, and just when Dr. Sanders thinks she’s finally found a way out, the house revives its wicked apostle and drags her in, slamming the door on hope.
